When foodservice operators showcase tea the right way, they help guests enjoy a feel-good moment and create a relaxing ritual in what could be an otherwise hectic day. The small amount of time invested improving tea presentation can improve guest satisfaction considerably.

Research shows that 77 per cent of customers are more likely to order tea if they’re assured the restaurant serves consistently good tea¹ and 79 per cent are likely to try new flavours of hot tea when they are at a restaurant.2 When you let your customers know you use Lipton®, it says you care about quality.

Customers are prepared to pay as much for tea as they will for coffee, but they also expect more attention to presentation. When building your tea program, it’s important to decide whether you will provide “bag out” or back-of-house service.

  • If you offer “bag out” service, place one or two enveloped tea bags on the saucer beside the cup, and serve fresh, filtered, boiling water from a teapot immediately upon heating.
  • When you prepare tea back-of-house, open one envelope per cup and place the tea bag in the bottom of the individual teapot with the bag’s tag out. Fill the teapot with boiling water and serve immediately.
